Welcome to Steve Maskill Butchers
“Quality is everything; you can taste the difference in the meat”
The photo to the right is great grandfather, Ben, at the turn of the last century... many of his traditional techniques are still used to this day!
When you want to treat yourself to the very best that British produce has to offer, nothing beats that from well reared local animals.
Our family has farmed the local area for the last two hundred years, we have been running a butchers shop since 1983 and we are absolutely fanatical about the quality and flavour of the stock that we sell. *A incredible 95% of the produce comes from our own sheep and cattle - reared and fattened on our own farm; the remainder comes from well established farmin neighbours in the region. The Maskill family has been dealing with these farms for the past fifty years...not many butchers can claim that sort of pedigree!
All the farms we buy from use traditional methods to feed and rear their stock. This care shines through in the end result as the meat has exceptional texture and flavours which modern intensive farming techniques simply cannot match. We know the origin of all of our fresh meat, including the selection of rare breed pork that we are proud to be able to offer.
As well as fresh cuts we also offer a wide range of vacuum packed sausages and burgers for summer barbequeues. We are more than happy to fulfil ‘freezer orders’ and supply top quality meat to the catering trade within a fifteen mile radius.
